Trust through transparency
Rainline is designed so that your data never has to leave your Mac. Local execution, Keychain-secured credentials, and zero telemetry by default.
Privacy-first architecture
Six principles that guide every line of code we write.
Local-First Execution
A lightweight daemon runs tools directly on your machine. Your conversations never pass through our servers.
Keychain Storage
API credentials are stored in the macOS Keychain, encrypted at rest by Apple's security subsystem.
No Telemetry
We do not log your prompts, responses, or tool outputs. There are no analytics hooks in the chat path.
Network Isolation
Optional lockdown mode disables all remote connections except your chosen AI provider endpoint.
Open Source Core
Key components of Rainline are open source. You can inspect the code, audit the build, and verify the checksum.
Code Signed & Notarized
Every release is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple's malware scanning service.
Browser apps vs. Rainline
See how a native, privacy-first desktop app compares to typical browser-based alternatives.
Open source transparency
We believe you should be able to verify what your software is doing. Key Rainline components will be open source. The GitHub repository is not yet public, but will be available for inspection when Rainline launches.
Security you can verify
Every Rainline release is code-signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple. We publish SHA256 checksums for every download so you can confirm the binary has not been tampered with.
- Apple Developer ID code signing
- Apple notarization on every release
- Published SHA256 checksums
Privacy isn't a feature. It's the architecture.
